Major snowstorm

It's spring and we are having a blizard like snow stome, in Kansas! If this was one of the northern states a bit closer to canada It probably wouldn't even be worth mentioning but again this is Kansas! We had a very small amount of snow over the winter and then at the begining of spring we are under a blizard advisory and could end up with a foot of snow.

It is pretty to look at. The flakes are quarter size or bigger and it's thick. Thick enough that visability is getting to be a problem, just out the front window. I had to go out in it early this morning to help JT jumpstart his van. He doesn't get out of working even though damn near everything is closed today. His van fails to start anytime it gets cold. It's a company van and they don't care enough to fix it right. Our ven had three inches or ice on the windshield and snow on top of that. We had to thaw it all and chip it off so we could move our van to his to jump it. The snow was probably 4 -6 inches deep at that point. It was wierd walking on top of it. We would leave footprints about a half inch deep and by the time we were done they were filled and covered with snow. I've got a couple of drifts in the back yard that are easily a foot deep alredy. I had to walk through one to get bread from the garage. Yeah great planning on my part.

Oddly enough none of my kids have the slightest interest in going out in the snow. I made sure all the boots, gloves, hats aand even snow pants were found and not one of them wants to go out. A year ago they were dragging me out the door to go sledding every time a flake hit. this year next to no interest. Very odd.

The way it's coming down right now I wouldn't be suprised if we get more than a foot. I don't think I'll be going anywhere for many days. Gives me an excuse to bake and read more. Glad we rented like 13 movies this week. It keeps the kids happy.
